We are looking for a seasoned General Manager in Eastern Europe who has experience and a passion for the air charter, aviation, freight forwarding, logistics or travel industry; thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to learn and grow with the global Chapman Freeborn Airchartering team.
Purpose of the Role
- To develop and support the business strategies for the region.
- To manage the profit and loss statement that summarizes revenues, costs and expenses incurred during agreed timeframes as outlined and agreed with the Regional Director.
- To implement all agreed strategies within the region together with the Regional Director and members of the Executive Committee.
- To ensure that all personnel in the region adhere to relevant group and local policies and procedures and work in conjunction with Corporate Services departments to maintain best practice and mitigate risk to the business.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Responsible for ensuring the alignment of all commercial activities within the region with agreed strategies and report progress to the Regional Management.
- Responsible to implement business objectives in line with overall strategies, including sales and marketing and supplier strategies.
- Lead, oversee and support the Easter European Cargo, PAX (VIP & commercial) broking and service delivery performance levels with a focus on improving operational disciplines, customer and supplier contract performance.
- To implement the agreed Sales Strategies within the region and to provide such information and reports as requested by the Regional Management.
- Develop local relationships with existing and new clients, as well as suppliers, to generate business.
- Push, promote and establish continuity across all business areas to achieve high standard commercial brokering procedures.
- Lead by example and use a hands-on support approach to local managers / staff.
- Foster a highly collaborative, commercial approach to inter-company business encouraging greater communication at all levels.
- Actively lead, manage and motivate the teams – become their trusted go-to support person for all business and HR related matters
What will our ideal candidate have?
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- To be based in Eastern Europe
- Local and English language skills at an effective operational command
- Knowledge of the regional market
- Experience in Aviation industry
- Team player to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong relationship building, account management & customer service skills
- Ability to successfully balance client needs with business objectives
