ABACE 2014: Newest private jet types taking off in China

We’re now only days away from the start of the Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE 2014), the Asia-Pacific region’s leading private jet event.

Held at Shanghai Honggiao International Airport in China, April 15-17, ABACE 2014 will bring together hundreds of business aviation professionals for conference sessions and a static display previewing many of the newest private jet types.

Private jet charter specialists from Chapman Freeborn’s Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong offices will be at the event, showcasing their expertise alongside aircraft operators and aerospace manufacturers from around the world.

As we blogged recently, China has become something of a battleground for private jet sales and reports speculate that the country will lead the global luxury consumer market within the next two years.

In terms of the private jets debuting in Shanghai next week, Bombardier’s Learjet 75 is likely to prove an attraction for many visitors. Delivering a high speed cruise of Mach 0.81 – the new eight-seat jet promises to be the fastest in its class when it finally hits the marketplace. It will be displayed alongside other Bombardier aircraft including a Challenger 605 and a Global 6000.

Gulfstream Aerospace’s will be displaying several of its newest jets including a Gulfstream G150, G280 and G650, while Dassault Falcon will be showcasing its popular Falcon 7X, 900LX and 2000LX models.

Elsewhere, Embraer is targetting Chinese buyers with its light Phenom 300, large Legacy 650, and an ultra-large Lineage 1000 – a jet capable of impressive city pairs including nonstop flights from Beijing to Copenhagen and from Shanghai to Anchorage.

These are just some of the private jets on display at ABACE 2014. View a full list here.
