Atlanta plays host to biggest ever supply chain show held under one roof

Next week our air cargo charter team is heading to the inaugural Supply Chain & Transportation USA Exhibition & Conference (SCT) – an event which organisers claim will be the biggest supply chain show ever to be held under one roof.

Co-located with MODEX and the Georgia Logistics Summit, SCT is set to bring together tens of thousands of professionals for educational sessions and workshops, as well as exhibition halls showcasing hundreds of supply chain related companies.

The event is positioning itself as a one-stop shop for supply chain executives from a variety of different industries including aerospace, automotive, energy and pharmaceutical and other sectors.

More than 200 million people, 80 per cent of US consumers, are within two hours’ flight time from Hartsfield-Jackson, or one day’s trucking by highway – so it’s easy to see why Atlanta is at the heart of the supply chain business.

The organisers of SCT have succeeded in bringing in some interesting keynote speakers for the first show – including Gil West, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Delta Air Lines, and Lee Scott, former CEO of Walmart.

We’re also looking forward to the conference sessions which should provide valuable insight on a variety of subjects including global manufacturing trends and winning more business through better supply chain design.

If you’re heading to Atlanta for SCT, please get in touch to arrange a meeting. In addition to air cargo charters, the Chapman Freeborn team provides specialist on board courier (OBC) services for time-sensitive sectors such as the automotive and pharmaceutical industries.

Supply Chain & Transportation USA Exhibition & Conference will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center, March 17-20 2014.
