Best Luxury Hotels that opened in 2015
The end of 2015 is fast approaching, so what better way to round off the year than to take a look at some of the world’s best luxury hotels that opened their doors throughout the year.
The St. Regis Dubai, United Arab Emirates
The St. Regis Hotel in Dubai, which opened earlier this year, is a Beaux-Arts-inspired hotel standing within a large resort that includes residential towers and a Las Vegas-style theatre.
There are a number of different restaurants and bars within the resort, including the J&G Steakhouse, which offers classic dishes inspired by Michelin-starred chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten.
The hotel has 182 guest rooms and 51 signature suites, including an exclusive designer suite and the St. Regis Royal Suite. Butler Service is available to all guests any time of the day or night.
La Montana, Paris, France
La Montana has previously been best known for its exclusive and glitzy nightclub, but this year, a glamorous hotel has opened there. La Montana is located in the Saint-Germain des Pres district and features six glamorous suites, one on each floor of the building.
The six suites are modelled on eccentric Parisian apartments and have all been individually designed and decorated. There is also the Le Gauche Caviar restaurant on the first floor of the building, which provides a chic and comfortable dining atmosphere.
Como The Treasury, Perth, Australia
Como The Treasury is located in Perth’s State Buildings, which are over 140 years old, and is Como’s first Australian hotel. It is situated in Cathedral Square, in the heart of the city centre and offers guests a luxurious haven from the buzz of city life.
The hotel has 48 contemporary rooms, two restaurants (one of which is on the rooftop and offers panoramic views), a bar and world-renowned Shambhala wellness therapies in the luxurious spa.
Mandarin Oriental, Milan, Italy
Mandarin Oriental Milan is located in four stunning 18th century buildings, with 1940s-inspired interiors, a wonderful spa, beauty studio, hair salon, a stylish bar and much more.
The hotel is in Milan’s fashionable Montenapoloone district, and is just moments from the incredible La Scala Opera House. The buildings that it occupies were formerly the headquarters of a bank and the interiors aim to recreate a Milanese residence of the early 20th, complimented by Oriental-inspired touches to echo the hotel group’s Far Eastern heritage.
1 Hotel Central Park, New York, USA
1 Hotel Central Park is a luxury hotel with a twist – its rooms and suites are finished with reclaimed wood and hemp-blend mattresses, giving it something of a eco-friendly, Scandinavian feel.
There’s a strong focus on healthy living and wellbeing at this hotel and guests can enjoy healthy and nourishing snacks in their rooms, rather than the usual chocolate goodies found in conventional minibars.
Guests can also indulge in world-class spa treatments in their bedrooms and dine in Jams restaurant by Jonathan Waxman. Here they serve up delicious dishes using farmstand-fresh ingredients that change seasonally.
