Chapman Freeborn Australia team delivers urgent out-size equipment into The Pilbara
This week our cargo team in Australia successfully completed a time-critical operation, transporting a heavy industrial component to the vitally important natural resource area of Pilbara, Western Australia. The Pilbara is an area which encompasses iron ore ranges, tin, manganese and gold deposits, coastal solar salt fields, and the north-west shelf oil and gas fields. Emergency outsized machinery and mining equipment are often required in this sector, and air cargo charter can be a quick solution.
For this operation, the team quickly arranged for an Ilyushin Il-76 aircraft to fly into Port Hedland International Airport which is located on the north-west coast of Pilbara. Due to the time-critical nature of this shipment and the requirements of a long runway to land the aircraft, Port Hedland Airport was the perfect location for this flight.
After a smooth arrival, the cargo was successfully unloaded and carried its onward journey – a superb effort from everyone involved for achieving this in such a short timeframe.
