Group Air Charter

Charter demand expected ahead of European football draws

As the Champions League reaches the Quarter-Final stage, and the Europa League is halfway through the Round of 16, Chapman Freeborn is once again prepared for the predictable surge of aircraft charter requests from both football teams and fans.

Three Spanish teams, two German, one Italian, one French, and one English, are through to this season’s Quarter-Finals of the Champions League. After a historic comeback from Barcelona at the Nou Camp, they will be hoping that their next tie will be more straightforward, and English champions Leicester City will hope to follow up on their miracle accomplishment last season by repeating these successes in Europe.

No teams have yet made it through to the Quarter-Finals of the Europa League, but all will be revealed on 16th March when the second round of all eight games are played. Highlights include Europa League newcomers hoping to cause an upset by beating giants Manchester United, and also the conclusion of the all-Belgian tie between Gent and Genk.

Clubs are not the only ones who will be eagerly awaiting who they will be facing in the next round of each tournament. When the draws for the Champions League and Europa League are made on Friday 17th March, Chapman Freeborn will be readily available to handle teams’ business jet charter requirements with safety, security and discretion.

European football’s top clubs are more frequently facilitating Group Air Charter solutions, rather than making the journey by road. The fitness and condition of footballers is paramount to every team, so the ease and comfort involved in aircraft charter is much preferred over uncomfortable, shaky and slow coach journeys.

Simon Cooper, Passenger Charter Manager at Chapman Freeborn explains:

“Every team would choose aircraft charter as their preferred form of transport if possible. Road traffic is unreliable, and can also leave players and staff agitated and restless – not ideal before a big game. Fortunately, Group Air Charter means that players arrive at their destination fresh and well rested for their upcoming fixture.”
