Courchevel – The ultimate ski destination
With the European ski season fast approaching, we take a look at one of the world’s premier snow sports destinations – Courchevel.
Location
Courchevel, nestled in the French Alps and part of the Les Trois Vallées, is home to some of the most sought-after slopes, testing (yet rewarding) off-piste runs and a range of activities to suit all appetites – from families with young children to action-hungry adrenaline-junkies.
Slopes
Skiing in Courchevel is an experience. With perfectly groomed pistes, stunning views of the French Alps and a variety of pistes that cater to all abilities, this French town has positioned itself as an ultimate ski destination.
The sheer size of the valleys (offering over 600km of interconnected slopes) means there’s something for all ski (or board) styles – whether you’re looking to tear up a black run (Jean Blanc is one of our favourites) or to take in the alpine scenery with some easy skiing, you’ll find it here.
Après-ski
With a world-renown après-ski scene, visitors will see that the fun doesn’t stop when the sun sets. Courchevel, and its neighbour Meribel (a short, 25-minute drive away), offer some of the best après-ski on the planet. Whether you’re heading to La Grange, Mangeoire (be sure to visit the piano bar) or across to La Folie Douce for some live music, you’re guaranteed a night to remember.
Getting there
With access to long-range private jets, turbo-props capable of accessing even the most remote airstrip and mountain-hopping helicopters, Chapman Freeborn can provide a travel experience in keeping with your alpine adventures.
