Incentive travel specialists heading to Cannes for Heavent Meetings 2014
This year’s Heavent Meetings showcase is fast approaching and the premier incentive travel event looks set to attract top buyers from across Europe.
Held in Cannes, March 26-27, Heavent Meetings is set to attract over 350 professionals, coming mainly from Germany, England, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy and Austria.
France is one of the world’s leading markets for the MICE industry. According to recent International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) statistics, only the USA, Germany, Spain and the UK host more meeting events than France each year.
As we blogged previously, global economic trends have negatively affected this segment of tourism industry in the last five years, but MICE professionals are reporting increased demand in 2014.
Event attendees typically have higher spending power compared to leisure tourists, so attracting their custom is a competitive business.
According to Magali Oullié, business development manager at air charter specialist Chapman Freeborn, the country is well placed to serve the MICE market.
“France has over 2,000 convention centres and congress halls, and it’s served by over 150 airports affording clients with great flexibility and choice.
“In terms of charter flight demand, we benefit from all-year-round activity. From world-class cities like Paris to the stunning scenery of Côte D’Azur and the Alps, France is ideally suited to hosting events.”
Heavent Meetings will be held at the Hall Riviera – Palais des Congrès et des Festivals de Cannes, March 26-27 2014.
