We are looking for an experienced hands-on Country Manager to join and lead the Poland region as part of our senior management team. With senior experience in managing and motivating a diverse team, both locally and remotely, the successful candidate will be confident in providing proactive leadership and decision making, while overseeing all commercial aspects of our core products within the air charter industry.

Commercially and culturally aware, the job role holder will be accountable for the region’s financial performance, including budget development and business plan execution. Identifying key and new markets while supporting our competitive growth plans will be a key aspect of the role. Senior leadership experience and strong expertise from either the air charter, airline or freight forwarding industry is mandatory for this challenging and rewarding position. We are looking for a modern and strategic collaborator, who knows how to cross-sell and utilize the Group’s resources while bringing new ideas and implementing processes and structure for our existing teams.

Purpose of the Role

  • To work closely in conjunction with the Regional Director – Europe.
  • To develop in conjunction with the Group holding Company’s Executive Committee, the business strategies for the region on an annual basis and to participate in annual budget discussions.
  • To manage the profit and loss statement that summarizes revenues, costs and expenses incurred during agreed timeframes as outlined and agreed by the Executive Committee.
  • To implement all agreed strategies within the region.
  • To provide to the e Executive Committee regular reports regarding their region when requested.
  • To establish and maintain positive working relationships with all Group Sales and Operations Directors (in line with relevant agreed strategies) in order to ensure such strategies are effectively implemented.
  • To effectively manage and motivate employees within their region, including communicating all relevant business strategies.
  • To ensure that all personnel in the region adhere to relevant group and local policies and procedures and work in conjunction with functional departments to maintain best practice and mitigate risk to the business.

Strategies

  • To manage the profit and loss statement that summarizes revenues, costs and expenses incurred during agreed timeframes as outlined and agreed by the Executive Committee.
  • Responsible for ensuring the alignment of all commercial activities within the region with agreed strategies and report progress to the Executive Committee when required.
  • Responsible for, with the assistance of Group Sales and Operations Directors, developing an understanding of all relevant markets and maintaining and developing relationships with existing and new clients, as well as suppliers, in order to generate business.
  • Responsible for, with the assistance of Group Sales and Operations Directors, region specific plans and implementing related business objectives in line with overall strategies, including sales and marketing and supplier strategies when requested.

Operations

  • Ensure that all brokering enquiries are handled in a professional manner, from initial quoting through to contracting and operational management, within the planned budget and allowing for a suitable profit.
  • Lead and oversee the regions broking and service delivery performance levels with a focus on improving operational disciplines, customer and supplier contract performance.
  • Qualifying customers and suppliers in line with Group policy on credit worthiness and legitimacy.
  • Ensuring all business transactions are accurately reflected in financial records.
  • Provide a 24/7/365 service platform with localized customer support.
  • Regularly review and drive operating efficiencies and processes to ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure effective communication of material issues (both from personnel to post holder and where relevant to Sales and or Operations Directors).

Sales

  • To implement the agreed Sales Strategies within the region and to provide such information and reports as requested by the Sales Directors or Executive Committee.
  • In line with Sales Strategies and with any necessary support of the Sales Directors, to develop local relationships with existing and new clients, as well as suppliers, to generate business
