Chapman Freeborn appoints Zori Marshall as Chief Legal Officer

Chapman Freeborn, the global air charter specialist and part of Avia Solutions Group, has appointed Zori Marshall, with over a decade of experience in corporate and commercial law, as new Chief Legal Officer (CLO).

Born in Bulgaria, growing up in Angola, Zori Marshall has a passion for languages, international travel and corporate/commercial law. With a strong educational background, Zori graduated from the University of Toulouse, France with a Bachelor’s Degree in International, European and Comparative Law, followed by a Master’s in International Business Law and, more recently, she completed her Master’s Degree at The University of Liverpool – Master of Science, International Management specialising in Energy.

Starting her career as an in-house counsel, she quickly progressed to Head of Legal and then to Head of Commercial and Procurement at SSE Energy Solutions. This coupled with the international experience Zori has gained from working around the globe (having lived and worked in Angola, USA, Brazil, Monaco, France and the UK), prepares her well for the role of Chapman Freeborn Chief Legal Officer.

 Zori Marshall comments:

“My career has always been in the oil & gas, energy and renewable sectors, so the aviation industry is new and exciting for me! I speak five languages fluently: Bulgarian, English, Spanish, French and Portuguese – joining Chapman Freeborn in a global role will give me the opportunity to use my languages more, which is one of the things that attracted me to the role. Chapman Freeborn has a strong history and global presence, there is diversity and the opportunity to work with a multicultural, and multinational workforce – this is all really important to me.”

The CLO role will focus on the Chapman Freeborn Group’s commercial delivery and will involve working on an integrated strategy aligned across the Avia Solutions Group.

“As part of this role I am keen to expand on policies Chapman Freeborn already has in place: inclusion and diversity, health and safety, environment and social governance, drawing from my previous experience.”

“Personally, I feel fortunate to be here. Moving into the aviation industry is a new challenge and I am looking forward to learning and developing my knowledge. It has only been a few days, and I have already met so many competent, engaged, willing, open, and passionate aviation individuals across the business. To anyone thinking about making the move to aviation, I’d say just go for it. The market is buoyant, things are looking up and there are lots of opportunities to grab hold of!”

Eric Erbacher, Chapman Freeborn CEO responded with:

“We are delighted to welcome Zori Marshall to Chapman Freeborn. Her knowledge and experience along with her passion and drive will add great value to our business partners and our people. I am very convinced that Zori will be incredibly successful in her new role. “
