Explore Sweden with a private jet charter

The land of the midnight sun is full of contradictions.

Sweden is perfect for a holiday in midsummer, with sun-lit meadows and lakes of the south stretched out under a cerulean blue sky. However, a trip in the winter truly captures the Scandinavian landscape with the snow covered pine forests of the north, tucked in the Arctic circle, where the Northern Lights might dance across the sky.

If your private jet charter lands at Stockholm Airport, it’s a 45-minute drive to the picturesque capital city, spread over a series of islands.
Ett Hem hotel blends luxury and cosy comfort with wood, marble, leather and velvet; a signature scent in the lobby; and a library, conservatory and hammam.

To sample some of Sweden’s famous cutting-edge cuisine, try Ekstedt, where dishes such as birch-fired wild duck with fennel and lovage or hay-flamed mushrooms with sweetbread and Jerusalem artichoke are cooked over a blazing fire.

After a chartered jet service to Copenhagen visitors can take the 20-minute train/car journey to the coastal city of Malmo which leads you over the famous Oresund bridge spanning the gulf between Denmark and Sweden. The charming city has a cobbled city centre, Malmo Castle and the ‘turning torso’ neo-futurist skyscraper, which until August was the tallest building in Scandinavia.

Hotel Master Johan is a sophisticated stay in the heart of the city’s old town with Scandi-style exposed brickwork and a small spa.

Vibrant Gothenburg on the west coast is the second largest city in Sweden, with culinary charms and a world-class craft beer scene.
After your private charter lands at Landvetter airport, it’s a 25-minute drive to the cobbled streets of the coastal city.

Gothenburg boasts dozens of cosy cafes, ready to welcome locals and tourists in for some fika – the Swedish custom of enjoying coffee and cake with friends.

Try Cafe Husaren for its famous Hagabullen, a cinnamon bun the size of a dinner plate.

Cool and casual Hotel Isbolaget is a converted icehouse in Donso harbour, with sea views and the very freshest lobsters, crayfish and oysters on the menu, or the luxurious Sankt Jorgen Park which has an award-winning spa and an 18-hole golf course.

Bar Bulot has a stunning Swedish bistro menu with dishes such as glazed pork belly in spiced tomato and aubergine ragu or halibut with vin blanc sauce.

Further north you’ll find some of Sweden’s most spectacular countryside and the chance to spot the Northern Lights in the winter.
Try Abisko, close to the border with Norway with huge skies and shimmering lakes. Your private charter jet can land at Kiruna in Swedish lapland – from there it’s a 90-minute drive.

The original ice hotel at Jukkasjarvi is just a 10 minute drive from the airport, guests sleep on reindeer skins and are woken in the morning with a hot drink and a reviving visit to the sauna.
Other winter adventures include dog-sledding, snowmobiles and Sami culture tours.

The best times to charter a flight to Sweden are May-September, for blue skies and midnight sun in June, or if you’re venturing further north for the aurora borealis visiting from November to March will give you the best chance.

But whatever time of the year you visit, you’ll find Sweden as warm and welcoming as a glass of gluhwein on a winter’s day.
