The festivities begin at 10am on the Tuesday, with an assembly of cars at Carmel-by-the-Sea for the Concours on the Avenue. Viewing days take place at the equestrian center at the Lodge at Pebble Beach between Wednesday and Saturday. This is the perfect opportunity to inspect the vintage cars for sale. 2017 Pebble Beach Motoring Classic
Even before the event, the Pebble Beach Motoring Classic begins in Kirkland, Washington as participants gather for the 10-day road trip of a lifetime. Driving south from Kirkland to Pebble Beach California, classic car owners will follow 1,500 miles of mountain and coastal road from the Pacific Northwest to arrive at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Only 30 cars are allowed to take part and they must all be registered pre-1968.

The finale to the classic car festival is Sunday’s Concours d’Elegance. This highly anticipated event will see 200 of the world’s most valuable collector cars compete for prizes on the 18th fairway of Pebble Beach Golf Links. The winners are rewarded for their excellence and judged solely on their historical accuracy, style and technical merit. Featured cars this year include American dream cars of the Sixties, Ferrari major race winners, Isotta Fraschini and Castagna Coachwork.
Attractions in Carmel and Monterey
The coastline and inland areas around Carmel and Monterey are unmissable. Hike in Point Lobos State Reserve Park; follow the scenic Seventeen Mile Drive along the Monterey Peninsula through Pebble Beach and Pacific Grove with its mansions, golf courses and stunning coastal scenery. Carmel-by-the-Sea is home to former mayor, actor Clint Eastwood and has superb restaurants, eclectic art galleries, boutiques and historic inns – as well as a delightful beach.
In Monterey, take a whale-watching cruise out into the bay where you might also see dolphins. Author John Steinbeck’s Cannery Row is well worth a visit, as is the Monterey aquarium and old fisherman’s wharf.
