Queenstown – New Zealand’s adrenaline capital | Private jet charter

Situated in the southwest of New Zealand’s stunning South Island, Queenstown is a world-renowned centre for adrenaline sports and enjoys a superb location on the shores of beautiful Lake Wakatipu, ringed by the enigmatic Southern Alps.

Lake Wakatipu

New Zealand’s third largest lake, Wakatipu is a wonderful escape from the city. Take a steamship ride and watch as this tidal water ebbs and flows every 25 minutes and visit the settlements of Kinloch, Glenorchy and Kingston.

Milford Sound

Hire a car and self-drive (staying overnight at Te Anau) or join a dedicated coach tour – Milford Sound is unmissable. A World Heritage Site located in Fiordland National Park, Milford Sound is the only road-accessible fjord in New Zealand and ringed by dense rainforest and steep cliffs.

Queenstown wineries

Sample the world’s best Pinot Noir at one of the 400 world-class vineyards located just 40 minutes from the city. Queensland’s Central Otago wine-growing region is the southernmost wine-growing area in the world whose unique shaly soil produces award-winning varietals. Join a tour that will take you to Gibbston, Wanaka, Bendigo and more, where you can enjoy tastings and sample superb cuisine from the vineyards’ restaurants.

Kawarau Bridge bungy jump

Spiritual home of the bungy jump – the world’s first commercial bungy jumping site – historic Kawarau Gorge Suspension Bridge gives jumpers a lofty 43 metre freefall experience to scream and shout their way to the water below. Tandem options are also available and jumpers can elect to go fully under the water, just touch it, or bob above. The choice is yours! Located on State Highway 6 at the entrance to Queenstown.

Shotover River ride

An exhilarating ride in the Shotover jet boat through the narrow rapids and canyons of the Shotover River is one you’ll never forget. As the only jet boat provider allowed on the river, the experience of charging through the Southern Alp-fed waters bordered by steep-walled canyons is breathtaking.

Glenorchy Lord of the Rings movie locations

Fans of the Lord of the Rings movies will be the first to head to Glenorchy, just a 45-minute drive from Queenstown on the northern shore of Lake Wakatipu. Lush beech forests and spectacular mountain ranges were the Middle Earth sets of Amon Hen, The Misty Mountains, Isengard and Lothlorien Forest. Jet boating, kayaking on the Dart River and the area’s magnificent hiking trails are highly recommended.

Skyline Gondola

Enjoy breathtaking views from Bob’s Peak via the scenic Skyline Gondola ride that departs from the top of Brecon Street in downtown Queenstown. Panoramic vistas awaiting visitors include the enigmatic Remarkables range, as well as views across Lake Wakatipu to Walter and Cecil Peaks. There’s wonderful hiking here, as well as mountain biking trails and even a luge.
