With spring fast approaching many people will be starting to map out their travel plans for the new season. Spring officially begins on the 20th March and until then we’ll be bringing you great spring travel destinations each week on our blog.
For those looking for fantastic weather and warm temperatures, a visit to the so-called Sunshine State of Florida is the perfect choice. With temperatures peaking in some parts of the state in the high twenties, Florida offers plenty of warmth and sunshine for visitors, as well as so many different places to visit and explore.
The state covers an area of more than 65 square kilometres and encompasses expanses of wetlands, stunning sandy beaches, rugged stretches of coastline, some of the world’s most well-known theme parks and exciting, vibrant cities. This variety of landscapes and things to do, coupled with Florida’s position as the southernmost US State makes it a fascinating and exciting place to visit.
Miami is the most populous place in Florida and is home to around 400,000 people. The city also enjoys some of the very best weather in the state, and in May you can expect temperatures to reach around 30 degrees Celsius during the day. blissful weather for walking and relaxing on some of the most beautiful beaches in the area. Some of the most popular beaches are Lummus Park Beach, Sunny Isles Beach, 21st-45th Street Beach and Haulover Beach.
Miami is something of a cultural melting pot and has a huge Cuban-American population which is evident throughout the city. Visitors will find a multitude of things to do and see in glamourous Miami. Experience the buzzing nightlife of South Beach, admire the Art Deco architecture in the Miami Beach Architectural District, discover Little Havana and shop until you drop in any of the modern shopping malls filled with both high-street and high-end gems.
The Florida Keys is the ideal place to go if you want a relaxing, get-away-from-it-all trip. This part of Florida is a string of tropical islands within an archipelago that stretches around 120 miles off the southern tip of the state. It has a tropical climate and, as such, has gorgeous weather in springtime with plenty of heat and sun.
The Keys are a great place to go if you love to go fishing, diving, boating or snorkelling, as the waters are crystal clear and wonderfully inviting. This whole area has a distinctly laid-back atmosphere, making it the perfect place to escape the rush of everyday life and head for a chilled out break.
