Summer Travel Destinations | Indonesia
With the official start to summer on 21st June, many people are turning their thoughts to summer holiday destinations and travel planning. If you need some travel inspiration for this summer, over the next few weeks we’re revealing some superb holiday destinations.
Indonesia’s weather is divided into two main seasons – wet and dry. The dry season starts from May through to September. During these months the weather is predominately dry, sunny and warm. Temperatures average 28 Degrees Celsius, making it an ideal summer holiday destination.
Bali
Bali could be accurately described as paradise on earth. It’s blessed with crystal clear waters, spectacular beaches, endless acres of rice fields, mountainous interior, plenty of culture and incredibly friendly locals. There are an estimated 10,000 temples, great diving and surfing spots and much more to keep you occupied.
No visit to Bali would be complete without visiting West Bali National Park. Visitors will find areas of rainforest, savanna, lowland forests, protected beaches and coral reefs. The national park is the ideal place to appreciate the true beauty of Bali.
Bali is also ideal for those whose idea of a summer holiday involves relaxing on a gorgeous beach or by the pool of a luxury hotel. Some of the best luxury hotels are the Viceroy Bali, The Oberoi Bali, Alila Villas Uluwatu, Amankila and Bulgari Resort Bali.
There’s something for everyone in Bali. Whether you want to visit cultural and spiritual Ubud, chic beachy Seminyak, laid-back eastern Bali or the black volcanic sand beaches and coral reefs of Lovina.
Jakarta
Jakarta, Indonesia’s capital and largest city, is a superb destination for a summer city break. This is where visitors will find the some of the best museums Indonesia has to offer. As well as towering skyscrapers, fantastic shopping malls and both modern and older, colonial style buildings.
Shopping is big business in Jakarta with malls all across the city. The most popular malls are Pacific Place Jarkarta, Mal Taman Anggrek, Grand Indonesia Shopping Town, Pondok Indah Mall and Plaza Senayan.
