Winter sun in the Seychelles | Private jet charter

The Seychelles, located 1,500km east of Africa, is the ultimate getaway destination. Made up of 115 islands, the Seychelles is perfect for sailing, snorkelling, scuba diving and surfing. The beaches are incomparable but there’s more than fine white-sand and palm trees.

Here are six reasons to hire a private jet to the Seychelles today.

Mahé Island

The largest of the Seychelles islands, Mahé is renowned for its white-sand beaches, palm trees and rainforest peaks such as Morne Seychellois. The Seychelles capital, Victoria, is located here offering visitors superb Creole and international cuisine, outstanding markets and Creole architecture. Its beautiful botanical gardens feature orchids and palms, as well as fruit bats and giant tortoises.

Seychelles Natural History Museum

One of Victoria’s quirkier museums, the Seychelles Natural History Museum, is dedicated to the evolution of flora and fauna in the Seychelles, with a special focus on environmental concerns facing the islands. From fragments of shipwrecks, to the skeleton of an extinct crocodile species, stuffed animals and other curios it’s a unique look at Seychelles’ heritage.

Morne Seychellois National Park

This stunning national park covers 20% of the land surface of Mahé. There are 12 exciting trails to explore, from coastal mangrove forests up to the country’s highest peak, the Morne Seychellois (905m). Covered in dense rainforest, the centre of the park is virtually deserted. You’ll find pristine indigenous fauna and flora, among ruins of old cinnamon distilleries in the valley of la mare aux cochons.

Sir Selwyn-Clarke Market

Located, appropriately on Market Street, this colourful market sells spices, fruits, vegetables and souvenirs. It’s the bustling heart of Victoria and a popular meeting place for locals as well as tourists. Stop for coffee and browse the antiques and craftwork here. Saturday mornings are especially vibrant.

Sainte Anne Marine National Park

Located off the coast of Mahé Island, Sainte Anne Marine National Park is the oldest marine reserve in the Seychelles and is heaven for snorkelers, scuba divers and offers non-swimmers exciting glass-bottom boat excursions.

As well as St Anne Island and the lagoon, the marine park also includes the beautiful Moyenne Island, Round Island, Long Island, Cerf Island and Ile Cachée. The coral reef here is stunning: look out for eagle rays, pipefish, sea turtles, and even bottlenose dolphins.

Mission Lodge Lookout, Victoria

For spectacular views of the mountain ranges, forests and the ocean, head to Mission Lodge Lookout in Victoria. It’s a protected historical site and was formerly a school for the children of former slaves.
