Germany is the perfect destination for your next private charter flight

Home to more than 83 million people, Germany is a country with a ton of personality and a character that’s as diverse as the many regions that form it.

With the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the division of East and West Germany disappeared, and the country came together in a period of celebration that lasted for many months to come.

As a country in central Europe, it’s bordered by Denmark, Poland, The Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, Belgium and The Netherlands – making it the perfect destination for your private charter flights and a base for exploring further afield.

Berlin, as the capital city, is a fascinating first-stopping point. With a thriving art and music scene, and sights including the Brandenburg Gate, it’s also one of the oldest cities in the country, dating back to the 13th century.

While many of Berlin’s architectural highlights look authentic, the majority have been painstakingly recreated after the destruction caused by the Second World War.

Outside of Berlin, take a trip to Munich. Famous, of course, for Oktoberfest and its ubiquitous beer halls, Munich is also a centrepiece for the arts, sciences, and innovation. The impressive Neuschwanstein Castle, a short hop from the city is well worth a visit as is an evening spent sampling the beers and food in this famous Bavarian city.

Heading north again and you come to Hamburg, an important port city, connected to the North Sea by the River Elbe.

Home to many canals and parks, Hamburg is a fabulous destination and packed full of walking trails and high-quality restaurants. Reserve a table at the Haerlin Restaurant. With two Michelin stars to its name, Executive Chef Christoph Rüffer is laser-focused on creating the most inspiring seasonal dishes using the best regional products.

For drinks and a chance to mix with the locals, head back down to the harbour and have a cocktail with a view at the Tower Bar. Just make sure to reserve a table.

As for visiting times. Germany’s proximity to the Atlantic means winters are fairly mild and summers aren’t too hot.

Tourists flock to the bigger cities during the summer and warmer months, but avoiding the height of the season in July and August is advisable. If you’re a fan of the Christmas markets visiting in the winter is another option on the table.

Head to Berlin or Cologne in late November for last-minute shopping and a taste of the famous gluhwein.

This is a country well worth getting to know, and the perfect destination for your next private charter flight.
