Chapman Freeborn, the global air charter specialist and part of Avia Solutions Group, has won the prize for highest contribution to charity at the Business Fives charity five-a-side football tournament.
The accolade came with an additional donation of £600 to Chapman Freeborn’s chosen charity.
The event, which took place on Tuesday 19th September, saw 34 teams representing businesses across London play in 99 matches throughout the afternoon in the name of a variety of worthy causes.
Chapman Freeborn’s two teams, Cargo and Passenger, played for fly2help, a charity dedicated to changing lives using the power and wonder of flight. With two branches to its fundraising, fly2help runs the Aim High programme, which aids people in launching their career in aviation, and Air Smiles, which gifts unforgettable flight experiences to families and individuals going through challenging times.
The Chapman Freeborn teams scored a total of 38 goals across the tournament, with the Passenger team making it through to the semi-final.
James Edwards, General Manager at Chapman Freeborn, said, “I’m very proud of my colleagues who got through to the semi-final of the tournament, but I’m even more proud that together we won the prize for highest contribution to charity. The extra £600 that comes with that award will make a huge difference to fly2help, and that’s what this is all about.
“Giving back and supporting endeavours such as this is very important to our CSR initiatives,” Edwards continues, “and I extend my thanks to the Business Fives organisers for their hard work in putting together such an enjoyable and valuable event.”
The tournament, for which Chapman Freeborn was a corporate sponsor, raised a total of £5,221 in charitable donations.
