Chapman Freeborn, the global air charter specialist and part of Avia Solutions Group, is a corporate sponsor for the Business Fives charity five-a-side football tournament.
The corporate event, now in its eighth year, brings together football teams from across five countries to engage in friendly competition whilst raising money for their chosen charities.
Chapman Freeborn is fundraising for fly2help, a charity dedicated to changing lives using the power and wonder of flight. With two branches to its fundraising, fly2help runs the Aim High programme, which aids people in launching their career in aviation, and Air Smiles, which gifts unforgettable flight experiences to families and individuals going through challenging times.
“We are thrilled to be part of Business Fives’ fantastic initiative”, said James Edwards, General Manager at Chapman Freeborn. “Giving back and supporting such endeavours is very important to our CSR initiatives, and the tournament promises to be an exciting and enjoyable way of doing so.”
Edwards continues, “Chapman Freeborn is honoured to be raising funds for flytohelp. Our colleagues live and breathe aviation, so it couldn’t be more fitting for us to support a charity that brings something we love so much to such deserving people across the UK.”
Sharon Walters, Charity Manager at fly2help, explains, “fly2help uses everything that’s positive about aviation to inspire, motivate and support anyone facing challenging life circumstances, through our Air Smiles respite family flying days and our Aim High aviation-inspired educational and career support and guidance for young people.
“flytohelp is very proud to have been chosen as the charitable partner for Business Fives, and all the monies raised will be used to provide support to families across the UK through our Air Smiles Flying Days programme.”
Business Fives aims to raise over £1million and will donate 10% of its revenue to the champion’s chosen charity. To date the event has raised over £650,000 and has ambassadors including former Arsenal cup final goal scorer, John Hartson, and footballing figures such as Joe Ledley, Darren Ambrose, Dean Windass and Kenny Miller.
John McClarey, Managing Director at Business Fives, said, “We are extremely proud of the charitable impact our events have created and our last London event in June raised £7,178 for various causes. We are hoping we can top that figure this time around.
We are really pleased to be working with Chapman Freeborn as part of our summer series of events, and excited to be partnering with them in supporting such a fantastic charity.”
The Business Fives five-a-side tournament will take place on Tuesday 19th September in Shepherds Bush, London.
