Palma de Mallorca

Step off your private jet charter at Palma airport and straight into the beating cultural heart of Mallorca. Less than 10km from downtown Palma, you can start exploring this medieval walled city at your earliest convenience.

You could start with a relaxed meander through the narrow side streets in the older parts of the city, stopping for a traditional aperitif (Palo de Mallorca) en route. Or you could stop to marvel at the breathtaking Catedral de Mallorca, which has stood imposingly on the site for more than 400 years.

This is a city steeped in history, established as a Roman camp, it was raided by the Vandals, became part of the Byzantine Empire, reconquered by the Moors and James I of Aragon before becoming a territorial division of Spain in the late 1880s.

Now, it’s a haven of tourism and it’s easy to see why. Perfect beaches, a beautiful climate and a wide range of accommodation makes Palma great for short corporate jet charter or a longer holiday.

And when it comes to accommodation, you’re in good hands. The adults-only El Llorenc Parc de la Mar, right next to the Catedral, is a haven of tranquillity with the city’s largest infinity pool at your disposal. The spa and spacious suites complete the experience. If instead, you prefer a little more privacy then a converted farmhouse villa with a pool might be just what you’re looking for.

What to see in Palma? The stunning Moorish architecture speaks for itself, but if you’re keen on exploring a little further afield then booking a day’s sailing cruise is a great option. Stop off at secluded bays for a swim and round the day off with a spectacular sunset onboard the yacht.

In the city itself, you’ll find the underground delights of the Caves of Genova (entrance in Palma), stunning nearby beaches, museums and of course the Catedral itself.

There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from, including the Michelin-starred Marc Fosh. Serving contemporary Mediterranean food, this is a restaurant you’ll want to make an advance booking for. Housed in the 17th-century Hotel Convent de la Missio, the tasting menus are not to be missed.

Getting around Palma is straightforward. Hire a car and driver for your stay or hop into a city taxi. If you’re feeling brave take a bus.

You can charter a flight into Mallorca throughout the year but the high season, as you’d expect, is between April and October with temperatures reaching their highest in August. Being a Mediterranean island, the weather remains mild even during the winter making it a fantastic year-round option.
