Dive into Luxury in Cyprus
If you have a notion to leave the cold, wet weather of the UK behind and head to somewhere warm and sunny, then why not take a look at the third largest island in the Mediterranean – Cyprus. The island is relatively small in size, but is brimming with beautiful beaches, friendly locals, thousands of years of history and world-class hotels.
Where to stay
There are a number of wonderful luxury hotels to choose from on the sun-kissed island of Cyprus.
Londa Hotel is the island’s first couture hotel and is located on the outskirts of Limassol, right on the glittering seafront. You’ll also find Anassa in Polis, Amathus Beach Hotel Paphos, Columbia Beach Resort in Limassol and Amathus Beach Hotel in Limassol. Each of these hotels has all of the features one would expect from a five star hotel, including gorgeous outdoor and indoor pools, indulgent spas, delicious restaurants, chic bars and terraces.
There are many striking private villas available to rent on the island if you’d prefer a little more privacy during your trip to Cyprus. There are many different villas located all around the island that have every amenity you could require to have an amazing trip. There are modern, contemporary villas and there are more traditional Cypriot style villas if you prefer something with more of a local feel. You’ll find villas with private gardens, private infinity pools, views of the sea and the landscape, tennis courts, games rooms, private bars and many more features that you’ll simply adore.
What to do
There are a number of wineries located around Limassol on the southern coast and tours can be taken where guests can observe the production process and, of course, sample some of the wines available.
For something a little more adventurous why not take a special helicopter tour of the Troodos Mountain range. There are several private tours available that include flying to a traditional tavern in the foothills of the mountains, visiting a Byzantine village, stopping for a traditional Cypriot lunch and taking in the incredible views of the mountains and coastlines of the island.
If you’d like to get out into the Mediterranean then chartering a private yacht is the perfect way to do so. There are many companies who offer luxury yacht charter, with vessels from 40 to 250 feet available and a choice between sailing and motor yachts. The majority of the larger boats come complete with diving kits, jet skis and a selection of other accessories to let you get a bit of an adrenalin rush during your trip.
There are three main airports in Cyprus – Larnaca International Airport, Nicosia International Airport and Paphos International Airport, with Larnaca being the most popular and widely used of the three.
