Private jet industry targets growth in China at ABACE 2013
The Asian Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (ABACE) is currently underway in Shanghai and Chapman Freeborn’s China private jet charter team have been posting live updates and photographs from the event.
Hosted at the new Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre (April 16-18, 2013) ABACE is considered to be Asia’s premier private jet show.
The event is reported to be attracting strong crowds this year, with growing interest in what private jet charter has to offer China and the region.
In addition to the exhibition and conference area, the static display area has attracted a number of jet operators and aircraft manufacturers.
With limited demand for new private jets in traditional markets like North America and Europe, key manufacturers are increasingly targetting China and the Asian markets for growth.
Gulfstream Aerospace’s two newest jets are showcased in the company’s static display – the first time the G650 and G280 are part of an air show in China.
Embraer has also been promoting its Legacy 650 jet – the large-cabin private jet which is a longer-range version of the Legacy 600. The Brazilian manufacturer begun assembly of the first Legacy 650 to be completed at its Chinese facility in Harbin and is set to deliver the aircraft later this year.
Elsewhere, Cessna Aircraft Company announced that it is making progress toward beginning operations in China through joint ventures to be formed with China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Company (CAIGA) in Shijiazhuang and Zhuhai.
Nextant Aerospace has also used ABACE to launch a new air ambulance conversion module for its 400XT model.
The technology enables the 400XT to be converted from a VIP configuration to a fully ACLS capable critical care room with self-contained ambulance bed in less than 30 minutes.
There are 34 aircraft on display at ABACE and below are a small selection of photographs of the private jets on show.
Tomorrow is the final day of ABACE 2013 so please look out for Chapman Freeborn’s charter team at booth H419.
As the world’s leading aircraft charter company, we’ve had an established sales and marketing operation in Beijing since 2004 – and with the opening of a second office in Shanghai recently we’ve further strengthened our presence in China.
