Introducing Taz Mears, Cargo Charter Broker at Chapman Freeborn.

Taz has been in aviation for just over 5 years and joined Chapman Freeborn in June of 2022. His main role as an air cargo charter broker is to match the needs of shippers with the capabilities of the air cargo carrier to ensure that the goods are transported safely, efficiently, and at a reasonable cost.

Taz has recently been working heavily in the automotive market, ensuring that time critical line-stopping movements are handled with the utmost efficiency and effectiveness. Most of all, Taz has a passion for out of gauge charters, which always require meticulous planning to ensure all goes to plan.

In his personal life, Taz enjoys watching and playing a variety of sports such as football, rugby and basketball – as well as F1. Aviation doesn’t stop at his career – the industry has always played a large role in his life, with aviation pedigree reaching back to his father and grandfather’s generations. His grandad accomplished multiple missions in the Falklands as an aerial surveillance officer in the RAF, his father also works in commercial aviation.

Taz has charted many air cargo shipments over his career but his favourite was his first Boeing 747 charter from Miami down to Panama, which is also his most loved aircraft, closely followed by the Ilyushin IL-76.
